Test Drive 1

Welcome to All Inclusive's test drive! Anyone is welcome!

Guidelines

  • Please make sure you are familiar with how we play and what characters are allowed before participating.

  • Writing should be in para/prose just like in the main game. That means no brackets, no asterisks, etc. No network posts, please.

  • No anonymous comments.

  • We very strongly suggest NOT writing your character's first time at the Nexus, but rather a random scenario once they've gotten more used to the idea of the place. The shock and surprise of new arrivals and subsequent info dump by whomever meets them tends to be one note.

  • Entries to the test drive may be of any length. However, if your intro (top-level) comment is of normal post length and you are proud of the quality, you may use it as an example on your application.

  • Feel free to tag around the meme with any character you already play or are considering, even if they don't have their own intro comment.

  • If your character is accepted into the game and you have permission from the other involved players, you may consider test drive threads as game canon. You may also linkdrop them to the main community if you choose.

  • Please use the header below for your intro/top-level comment.

Th fist bump would have been mystifying to Elizabeth even if it wasn't followed by Baymax's strange noise. As it was she simply tried to respond in kind, though she giggled too much to properly mimic the noise it made. It didn't seem offended, which was a relief.

"Oh, so you're like a doctor? That's really amazing." Elizabeth still had a few issues with doctors, but something like Baymax wouldn't worry her as much. In her experience people were not to be trusted, but machines largely did what they were told.

"Correct," Baymax says. "I am a personal healthcare companion. Are you currently experiencing any pain or discomfort? I can scan you for injury or illness."

"Oh, well I'm feeling fine but how does the scan work?" Elizabeth was torn between her intense curiosity about Baymax and her dislike of medical procedures. The robot didn't scare her much. As long as it didn't produce any sharp implements she thought she could tolerate it. She already knew she was in relative good health, so there was no real harm in letting it scan her.

"My scanner is painless and brief, designed to detect injuries and abnormalities. It also allows for me to ascertain your blood type and any allergies," Baymax continues in a clear, pleasant voice.

"Alright then. You may scan me, if you want." She smiled at Baymax, glad to have her fears put to rest. "You're a fascinating machine. Who made you?" It was difficult to resist the urge to poke and prod at it to find out it ticked. It seemed like the person who invented Baymax was a thoughtful and highly intelligent person.

"I was built and programmed by Tadashi Hamada at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology." Baymax's scan takes less than a second before his video screen lights up. "You appear to be in very good health."

The scan was very quick and as painless as promised. She smiled brightly at Baymax. It was such a clever device! "He is a very good inventor. You're a marvelous machine, Baymax. Where is San Fransokyo?" Perhaps he was from the future. That was exciting to contemplate.

"In California, United States," Baymax replies, blinking as his processors whir.

"I've never been there. I hear it's quite wild." At least, it was at the turn of the twentieth century. She blushed a little, then asked, "Do you mind if I take a look at you? I'm still trying to get a grasp on technology more advanced than a refrigerator." Being able to use a computer or smartphone want enough to satisfy her. She wanted to understand how things worked.

"It is quite civilized with a variety of industries and infrastructure," Baymax assures her. "I cannot become transparent, but my video panel is stored with information about my make and design."

"Can you access those videos for me, please? Or are you busy? I certainly don't want to impede you in your work."

"Of course." Baymax's stomach screen lights up, playing a video that Tadashi had installed specifically to explain.
