Welcome to All Inclusive's test drive! Anyone is welcome!

Guidelines

• Please make sure you are familiar with how we play and what characters are allowed before participating.


• Writing should be in para/prose just like in the main game. That means no brackets, no asterisks, etc. No network posts, please.


• No anonymous comments.


• We very strongly suggest NOT writing your character's first time at the Nexus, but rather a random scenario once they've gotten more used to the idea of the place. The shock and surprise of new arrivals and subsequent info dump by whomever meets them tends to be one note.


• Entries to the test drive may be of any length. However, if your intro (top-level) comment is of normal post length and you are proud of the quality, you may use it as an example on your application.


• Feel free to tag around the meme with any character you already play or are considering, even if they don't have their own intro comment.


• If your character is accepted into the game and you have permission from the other involved players, you may consider test drive threads as game canon. You may also linkdrop them to the main community if you choose.

"This place is a good start. I think we should look as much as we can, even as we rest, and enjoy this place. That way, should we ever need to go, fast, we'll be ready, and should we have our time to take, we'll be ready, anyway. But we can relax and enjoy here and now, even if we are keeping one eye planted on the future."

Killian believed in having a plan, even if it was only 12% of a plan.

"The doors open to different worlds based on who opens them, perhaps our first step should be to talk to people and hear about their homes."

Angela's feeding seemed to be tapering off. Elizabeth sighed in relief. Sitting still like this was difficult when there was a new place to explore! "She's about done, you don't need to stand guard anymore."

"Yeah, good plan, and all we have to do is know how to ask, and who." He didn't like asking favors, but he'd do it, for Angela, and for her chances, and for just-in-case. he liked to have plans.

"Okay." He sauntered in, and smiled down at Angela, then gestured to the book he had been reading, lifting it and opening it. "This one has pictures galore, and colored, too, might make her smile." It was a mapbook, with illustrations, too, in vivid colors, and illustrated text along the way.

Elizabeth smiled at Killian and looked at the book. "The pictures are gorgeous. You should read it to her after her bottle tonight." Truthfully Elizabeth didn't think Angela's eyes were yet good enough for the pictures, but watching Killian read to the girl would amuse Elizabeth and it would foster a deeper connection between father and daughter. When she was older she would appreciate the pictures, but the reading would almost certainly be more important.

"I can do that." Killian remembered being read to, long ago, fondly. "She seems to like being read to." And while she might not be able to focus, he knew she liked bright colors, and hoped she would like these.

"She does. When her parents have such beautiful voices you can hardly blame her." Elizabeth winked at Killian, a confident smile on her face. She did enjoy his voice, and she was a trained singer so her voice was also quite good. That it was currently being used to relay the adventures of hungry caterpillars and brown bears wasn't important.

Beside, reading to her daughter made Elizabeth very happy. It seemed to benefit them all. "I'll leave you to decide which book you'll check out while I get her stroller. Do try not to miss me too much." Elizabeth stood and offered Killian the baby. "Here, maybe she'll tell you which book she prefers." Hopefully he'd be wise enough to close the books before offering the baby a choice.

Killian chuckled and poked her. "She's lucky." And so are we, he did not say. He felt very much lucky yo finally have a child.

Killian grinned and took Angela, arms naturally enfolding her in what was now a well practiced position as he held her close. "Maybe she would. We'll see what she likes." He winked at Elizabeth, then made his way to the shelves, wandering with her.
