Welcome to All Inclusive's test drive! Anyone is welcome!

Guidelines

Please make sure you are familiar with how we play and what characters are allowed before participating.

Writing should be in para/prose just like in the main game. That means no brackets, no asterisks, etc. No network posts, please.

No anonymous comments.

We very strongly suggest NOT writing your character's first time at the Nexus, but rather a random scenario once they've gotten more used to the idea of the place. The shock and surprise of new arrivals and subsequent info dump by whomever meets them tends to be one note.

Entries to the test drive may be of any length. However, if your intro (top-level) comment is of normal post length and you are proud of the quality, you may use it as an example on your application.

Feel free to tag around the meme with any character you already play or are considering, even if they don't have their own intro comment.

If your character is accepted into the game and you have permission from the other involved players, you may consider test drive threads as game canon. You may also linkdrop them to the main community if you choose.

If you need or want to stop playing a character at AI for any reason, all you need to do is let the mods know. Dropping is a completely no-judgment zone.

How to Drop

Leave a comment to this post or to the Page-a-Mod post letting us know you're dropping.

Have your character leave the game communities. Just login to their journal and click the following links: All Inclusive, Hotel Stationery, Guest Services.

Please note that dropped characters are immediately available for claims. If you've dropped a character and wish to start playing them again at a later date and the character hasn't met their three instance limit, you'll need to reclaim them via the normal process.

(A Test Drive meme with a little Most Wanted flavor.)

Instructions:

1. Comment with a fake classified ad from your character. It could be a personal ad (if your character is looking for someone specific, like a canon mate, or someone in general for friendship/romance), seeking employment or anything else, selling something...basically anything relevant. (Here are some funny or bizare examples of ads: one, two, and of course there's always the potential horror of Craigslist.)

2. Have your character reply to other ads that pertain to them or spark their interest, and go from there!

ANY character can leave an ad or reply to an ad, whether they are already part of all_inclusive or not! You can use this meme as a test drive for potential characters, to request canon mates, or just to have fun! :)

The post below is currently open to new threads. That means that if someone were to browse the !open tag, they would come across the EP and understand that it’s still encouraged to tag in with a new thread. If you no longer want to keep your post open, switch it from open to closed easily!

Step 1:

Open your ‘Edit Tags’ menu.

Step 2:

Highlight !closed to select it before deleting !open. This means you’re no longer accepting new threads on the post (although you may still be working on the threads already in the post). From there ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done!

This is the copy/paste code for posting private linkdrops to

all_inclusive. We use this form to ensure that it is perfectly clear what is a linkdrop and what is a post open for tagging.

To use the form, simply replace everything in ALL-CAPS. The completed form will look something like this:

If you feel comfortable doing so, you may adapt the template as-needed. Please just keep the basic style intact so that it's easy to tell at a glance what is and isn't a linkdrop, and be certain to include any relevant warnings.

This form is generally used on godmodding/permissions pages, but you're free to use or adapt it in whatever way you choose.

<b>Exit:</b> (The exit point you described in your application.)
<b>Stuck?:</b> (Are they currently stuck in the hotel?)

<b>Time Zone:</b> (Your time zone, if you choose to share it.)
<b>Availability:</b> (Your current availability for this character. Hiatus, very slow, fast tag backs, etc.)
<b>Slowtagging:</b> (Your policy on slowtagging.)
<b>Open to:</b> (The types of activity you're interested in. This can be super specific to this character, or can just use the shorthand found in the game status post — AUs, backstory, PSLs, etc.)
<b>Canon-puncturing:</b> (How you feel about other characters telling this character they're fictional.)
<b>Offensive subjects:</b> (Whether or not you're open to offensive subjects in gameplay.)
<b>Powers:</b> (Whether or not it's okay for other characters to use powers on this character. It's a good idea to specify for telepathy.)

<b>General warnings:</b> (Any blanket warnings/notices you want other players to know about.)

<b>Romantic interaction:</b> (What to expect from this character with regards to romance: What their limitations are, what you're specifically interested in, etc.)

<b>Violence:</b> (What to expect from this character with regards to violence, and whether you're open to them being injured.)

<h3>Godmodding</h3>
<b>For anyone:</b> (General godmodding permissions, such as "You can say you saw them in the library" or "They wait tables in the bar.")

<b>Special permissions:</b> (The list of characters allowed more advanced godmodding, and what is allowed for each. This is usually friends, family, and/or canon mates.)
